    Kellie's Got the Look

"Life Goes On" star Kellie Martin seems to get even prettier, smarter, and sweeter each time we catch up with her! Listen in as she tells us all about her show, her clothes and her new hair style!

TIGER BEAT: How are things going on "Life Goes On?"

KELLIE: Great! 'Becca' right now is so challenging. All of these AIDS storylines we've been doing are really heavy. I go to work every day and it hurts sometimes. I read the script before we film and I cry! But it's good for me, I would rather be challenged.

TIGER BEAT: You must be learning a lot about AIDS.

KELLIE: Yeah. Every day I learn more about it. I have never had anyone close to me die of AIDS, but through working on the show I've gotten to meet more and more people who are going through it. It's incredibly frightening, yet the more you learn about it, the more you know that you're not going to get it if you're smart.

TIGER BEAT: Do you have a favorite episode?

KELLIE: My favorite one we did the first season. It was about my ballet teacher who had to be put into a home. Then we did a show called "Triangles" where 'Jesse' and I went to find the girl who gave him AIDS. That was a good one, and then there's "Confessions" when Tyler died.

TIGER BEAT: Becca's gone through a lot of changes since last season.

KELLIE: Yeah, I have had so much fun stuff to do. They wanted her to come back a different person with new clothes, a new look and a new job. The wardrobe lady called me up and said, "We're going to do what you want to do this year," because I made a big fuss about my clothes. If I don't feel good about myself before I walk in front of the camera. I can't do my job. So, I went shopping with the wardrobe lady. She has a Warner Brothers budget so we got to buy all the clothes we wanted to, which was really fun.

TIGER BEAT: Where did you go?

KELLIE: Betsey Johnson and Nordstrom and a couple little boutiques. I introduced my wardrobe lady to Dungarees. She practically lives there now! It's the coolest little store and she's like best friends with the salesmen. So sometimes I'll go in there and tell the guy, "Oh, this sweater is so cute!" And when Sarah, the wardrobe lady, will go in, the salesman will say, "Kellie loves this sweater!" The next day I'll come in to work and it will be in my dressing room! Becca's going to wear it one day and then Kellie can borrow it! It's very fun and very cool!

TIGER BEAT: You cut your hair too. Was that your decision?

KELLIE: I did not want to do that. A week before we went back to work, the producer called me up and said, "Kellie, we want you to cut your hair." I said, "Okay. Fine. An inch right?" He said, "No. Like Janine Turner on 'Northern Exposure'." I am very bad at saying no to anything that involves work, which is good and bad. So I compromised. I brought them in pictures of Michelle Pfeiffer and Jodie Foster. Now I'm glad they told me to do it!
